COACHING EXPERIENCE: Tim Thenell founded and has been running the Colorado QB Academy since 2004. In that time frame, he has worked with over 100 QB's between the ages of 7 and 22. The success of his program is typically measured by the large number of HS QB's that he has helped acheive not only All-Conference and All-State honors, but have received college scholarships as well. In 1995, Tim was offered the Offensive Graduate Assistant/QB job at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He turned it down to stay in Colorado to pursue his life as husband and a father. While in Colorado (1995-present), Tim has been known as an offensive assistant at Bear Creek High School--off and on assuming the role of QB Coach and Offensive Coordinator during that time. Through the tutelage of his brother and Head Coach Tom Thenell, Tim has become one of the premier quarterback coaches in the state of Colorado.
ATHLETICS: In 1989 and 1990, Tim Thenell started his quarterback career at J.K. Mullen High School here in Denver where he led Colorado’s highest classification (5A) in both passing yardage and touchdown passes, and was named All State. After spending one year at Northern Colorado playing for Joe Glenn and Kay Dalton, Tim transferred to Western State College where he became a three year starter for Duke Iverson. Western State made the Division II national playoffs all three years and was a semifinalist in 1992. Tim earned All Conference honors as a junior and a senior, and was consistently in the top 5 in the country in pass efficiency.
