Pete was a WR for Cherry Creek High School from 1994-1996 where he helped the Bruins win 3 State Championships. His senior season he was named 1st team all-state and became the first Cherry Creek receiver to ever eclipse the 1,000 yard mark in receptions. Pete went on to play for Sonny Lubick at Colorado State where he helped the Rams win 3 conference championships and play in 4 bowl games. Pete was the leading receiver for the Colorado State his Junior and Senior season and was named first team all-conference both as a receiver and return specialist his junior and senior year. Pete was also named 3rd team All-American his senior season as a return specialist and was a finalist for the 2001 Mosi Tatupu National Special Teams Player of The Year award. Pete was awarded the opportunity to play for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League where he spent one season playing for Coach Dick Vermeil.
Coaching Experience: Pete has spent the last 5 years coaching Colorado high school football. His first two seasons coaching Pete worked with the Thenell brothers at Bear Creek High School and was in charge of the Wide Receivers. Pete’s receivers during a 2 year span had over 300 receptions and more than 6,000 yards receiving. Pete oversaw the offense at Cherry Creek High School the last 3 seasons as offensive coordinator and QB coach where he helped guide the Bruins into the 2008 5A State Championship game.
